Writings
Jason, a longtime resident of Springfield, Missouri, was inspired early on to pursue a career in law. Excelling in his educational career, Jason was a National Merit Scholar and worked to obtain his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Missouri State University, graduating with honors. He continued his studies as a Rubey Hulen Scholar at the University of Missouri -- Kansas City, completing both Master's of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degrees.
Jason is admitted to practice law in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the Supreme Court of Missouri.
During his time as an attorney, Jason has tried a variety of cases ranging from murder to traffic, including several jury tried cases. Although he is comfortable in the courtroom and has a record in which he takes pride, he does make every effort to avoid the inconvenience of unnecessary trials for his clients.
Jason practices primarily personal injury, criminal and family law. Jason also does mediation work involving children and volunteers time for public interest work. For his work for the less fortunate, he was awarded the Equal Access to Justice Award by the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and Legal Services of Southern Missouri. Enjoying people, he also has several semesters of community college and university level teaching experience in law and business related subjects.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys reading on a wide variety of subjects. Jason's second language is German. Hobbies and interests include racquetball, mountain biking, hiking, home improvement, travel and the outdoors.
