I am often asked, how do I feel good about defending people accused of crimes, particularly those I "know" are guilty.

Just today, I was successful in getting a serious felony criminal charge dismissed, clearing a very nice lady's name. She was just as innocent as any of us and I won't deny the feeling of satisfaction that came with that success.

On the other hand, we all enjoy the Constitutional and related protections afforded under our system of government. Even in defending those of us who behave in the most criminal manner, all of our rights are defended in insisting on the same level of protection for all. Every time I get a case dismissed on some "technicality" like an illegal search, I am defending those same protections for our law abiding friends.
