the steps and go through the space between the central columns leading to the
front door, pause to look up and at the grand entrance and reflect on the wonder
that is our grand experiment in government. Take a moment to touch the worn
spot on the base of the fourth column from the right where so many have felt
with their hands a connection to liberty and democracy.
